Add a monumental piece of American pottery history to your collection with this authentic Antique 15-Gallon Red Wing Stoneware Crock.

Produced by the legendary Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. in Minnesota, this large-scale primitive vessel features the highly sought-after 6-inch red wing stamp, a bold cobalt blue hand-stamped "15", and the original circular advertising oval. Coated in a classic, beautifully distressed off-white zinc glaze, it delivers an unmatched rustic aesthetic.

Dating back to the circa 1906–1930 era, massive 15-gallon crocks like this were the ultimate workhorses of the American homestead. Long before modern refrigeration, these heavy stoneware vessels were kept in root cellars, general stores, and farmhouses for bulk food preservation. They were essential for pickling vegetables, fermenting large batches of sauerkraut, curing meats in brine, and protecting dry staples like grains and flour.

Authentic Red Wing pottery remains highly collectible today, with large-capacity 15-gallon variants particularly prized because few survived the decades completely intact. Its impressive scale, historic patina, and striking graphics make it a premier statement piece. It acts as an incredible focal point for modern farmhouse, primitive, and country aesthetics—perfectly utilized as a unique indoor planter, a living room blanket holder, or an eye-catching entryway umbrella stand.
