Born and raised in Oslo, Norway, Matti Berglund grew up surrounded by Scandinavian folklore, an influence that continues to shape her imaginative work today. She later moved to Colorado and earned her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Denver. Now based in the Denver area, Berglund is known for richly layered, dreamlike paintings inspired by folklore, nature, travel, femininity, and symbolism.
